Summit 1000 Registration

Time: Tuesday mornings. Time varies.

Starting Point: Start point varies

Ride Leader: Danielle Amerongen

Skill level: Though the rides can be adapted to various skill levels, some riding experience is required.

Route Maps: Routes are on RWGPS but we will ride as a group

Ride Description:

These Tuesday morning rides are meant to increase a cyclist’s strength required for hill climbing and wind. Why 1000? Our goal will be to get 1000m of climbing during one of the August rides.

A combination of shorter steeper climbs in the river valley along with longer rides near Devon will provide variety and cover a number of different hill climbing strategies. This ride is a perfect compliment to the Stamina Builder series in developing another component of cycling fitness.

Some rides will involve river valley loops aiming to ride those short and steep hills and sometimes we will favour a hill to go up and down (yes those infamous hill reps!). We will always be on paved paths/roads. Number of participants will be capped at 12 for safety. Road bike recommended. No ebikes please. After all it’s about the burn!

Ride On Thursday Register

Ride Leader: Charmaine Folster
Time: 5 pm

Skill level: Novice at the beginning. Rides increase in difficulty as the season progresses but will be appropriate for all levels.

Route Maps: RWGPS route is provided. No paper maps.

Ride Description:

Come and cycle with EBTC on Thursdays and explore some of the west end country roads. In May, you can choose between two routes every week: one short/one long. Both the short and the long routes will increase in distance over the season as cyclists build endurance. These rides are a perfect compliment to the Stamina Builder series.

We tend to stay on quiet roads but occasionally our journey takes us onto some higher traffic roadways. We try to use roads with good tarmac suitable for road bikes but mountain/hybrid/touring/ebikes are all welcome. There are short, small hills on most of the routes.
