The Devon Bicycle Association’s President, Stewart Hutchings, is
spearheading an initiative to get the Alberta Government to legislate a “1
Metre Rule”. Similar legislation, called “Ellen’s Law” was recently passed
in New Brunswick because of the death of a nationally ranked cyclist (see:
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brunswick/ellen-s-law-legislation-introduced-1.3986590
). Stewart sports a Voler jersey with the logo “1 METRE PLEASE … SAFE
DISTANCE” as shown below. Voler has kindly offered us a 15% discount on the
purchase of these jerseys (and all other items in the Voler online store!).
