Date: Saturday, August 17
Time: 10:00 – 3:00
Start: No Frills parking lot on the south side of Beaumont, northwest corner of 50th Street and Hwy 625. If coming south on 50th St from Edmonton, turn right at light on 30th Ave, then immediately left to get into the parking lot. Please park away from the stores in the southeast corner of the lot.
Description: We will ride a very simple route on well-paved roads with some traffic and mostly relatively narrow shoulders. We’ll head east on Hwy 625 to Hwy 21, south to the New Sarepta turnoff, through New Sarepta (water and washrooms) and out the south to Rollyview Rd, east to Miquelon Lake Provincial Park for lunch, then back across Rolleyview Rd (refreshments available at Rollyview) to Hwy 814 and north to the starting point. The route is fairly flat. The western part is grain, with cattle on gently rolling land in the eastern part, knob and kettle similar to Elk Island. With 8 turns and only 3 stop signs in 90 km, those who don’t like to slow down are welcome to boot it out.
This ride is unsupported and weather-permitting.
Maps will be available at the start.
