Smoky Lake Pumpkin Festival
SMOKY LAKE PUMPKIN FESTIVAL (70 KM)
Date: Saturday, October 5, 2019
Time: Meet at 9:45 am. Ride Starts at 10:00 a.m.
START LOCATION: Village Office, 5021 – 50 Street, Andrew, Alberta
Cost: Entry fee of $15.00 to see the giant pumpkins/squash/watermelons and watch the judging/weighing
The Festival has lots of food stands, or bring your own lunch
Distance: 70.6 km
Rating: Easy (some rolling hills)
It is a bit of a hike to get there, but the Smoky Lake Giant Pumpkin Festival is not to be missed!! Giant pumpkins and other gigantic root vegetables are brought from all over North America for display and judging – some weighing up to 1,000 lbs!! There is also a fun country festival on the Agricultural Grounds.

Meet at the Andrew Village Office [easiest route is East on Highway 16 past Elk Lake Park to Mundare (don’t forget to stop for famous Mundare Sausage on the way…!), and north on Hwy 855 to Andrew]. Drinks, Snacks and washrooms available at Alta Gas in Andrew before the ride. We will cycle north and west on paved country roads to the Smoky Lake Agricultural Centre 4612 – 54 Avenue.
If weather is not conducive for riding – no problem! We will still meet at Andrew Village Office and carpool to the Festival – or you can meet us there. Call Maureen for details, if this is your option.
