Unique Day and Multi-day Events 2025
Under Construction still
Unique single-day and multi-day events are generally announced well in advance. Pop-up events are organized on short notice and generally will not appear on this page. Please consult the Calendar/Karelo often.
Unique Single-day Events
Al’s and Darren’s Bakery Ride(s)
Tentatively planned for June 7 and September 13, 2025
This easy urban social ride takes you through 30 kms of a food itinerary, with stops for bakery yums, maybe gelato, lunch, coffee and treats. Spending the day with friends and food has been so popular that we offer this ride twice
Fort Saskatchewan Brunch Ride
The date for this annual ride is t.b.d.
Ride at an easy pace from Ardrossan to Fort Saskatchewan to enjoy a relaxing brunch and conversation at a local restaurant (or bring your own food to eat outdoors). This out-and-back ride, which may take slightly different but direct routes in each direction, totals approx. 55 km.
Miquelon Lake
This annual ride is on August 16, 2025.
Miquelon Lake is a great spot for a leisurely snack and chat in the middle of your intermediate 50 km or challenging 95 km ride. The two rides start at different locations and times so that all riders meet up at the provincial park for a break
Pigeon Lake and BBQ
An annual EBTC tradition, this year’s ride is on August 24, 2025
You can have an enjoyable summer’s day riding around the lake on the 60 km ‘outer loop’ of paved roads or the 65 km ‘inner loop’ of paved and gravel roads. Both rides are intermediate and finish at Mulhurst Bay for a BBQ and social time. Â
3rd Annual Chase the Sunrise Ride
September 1, 2025
Cycle with the sunrise on quiet country roads from Sherwood Park to Beaumont for breakfast. We’ll then have a nice cycle back for an approx. 54 km round trip. This intermediate ride starts when the sun rises on September 1, 2025, i.e., at a ‘civilized’ 6:43 a.m.
Autumn Hub and Spoke
Tentatively on September 7, 2025.
You can ‘challenge’ your chosen distance at EBTC’s annual near-end-of-season event. Starting at the South Cooking Lake picnic area, riders cycle loops of different distances, each bringing them back for snacks and beverages.
Those on the intermediate 60 km ride (2 loops) group-up at turns. Riders choosing a challenging option self-navigate (2 loops for 98 km; 3 loops for 123 km). With loops, you can end your ride at the picnic area when you choose – and stay around to chat.
Pop-Up Rides
Dates not fixed. Check the Calendar and Newsletter or sign up for the Pop-up notification list.
In 2024, 21 pop-up rides were offered. Ride leaders plan these rides close to the ride date based on weather conditions and their availability.
Multi-day Trips
Cycling Fairmont Hot Springs
May 19-22, 2025
It’s EBTC’s second year to explore this beautiful area of B.C., with two planned intermediate rides and one free day to do as you choose. Since this is a ‘pay-you-own-way trip, members can decide how long they wish to stay.
Our planned rides are on paved multi-use trails from Cranbrook and from Fairmont Hot Springs. Although not difficult in distance (45 to 55 km), they have steady gains in elevation – and some nice views and stops. Member registration recently opened; if not full, you’ll fine more details in the Newsletter or Calendar.
Drumheller: The Dinos and Drama Tour
May 23-26, 2025
EBTC returns for a third year to pedal through the dramatic landscape and unique sites of the Badlands – canyons, a ferry ride, hoodoos, a saloon! The drama isn’t limited to the landscape. We’ll also attend the buffet and performance at the Rosebud Theatre.
This tour is planned in a ‘hub and spoke’ format, with intermediate rides between 36-70 km on each of the four days. As this is a pay-your-own-way trip, members can choose to come out for all four or fewer days. Member registration recently opened; if not full, you’ll find more details in the Newsletter or Calendar.
Thunder Lake Cycling & Camping Weekend
July 26-27, 2025
This long-standing EBTC tour is back again for 2025. Its an intermediate, fully supported tour from Onoway to the Thunder Lake Provincial Park and return. Distances are 75 km on Saturday and 85 km on Sunday.
Camping fees, and some meals and snacks for breaks along the way are prepaid by riders through a Club fee. Participants always enjoy the food, support and comradery on this trip, whether they camp regularly or haven’t camped for years.

September 2025
This challenging iconic ride on the U.S. west coast from Astoria, CA to San Francisco was last offered in 2023. The 2025 edition has three cycling trip options:
