Series Summary 2025
All series rides open for registration six days prior to the scheduled ride. Other Pop-ups or unique/single day rides have different registration windows. Please consult the Calendar/Karelo often.
Sunday Social Rides
Sundays at 10 a.m.
Ride Leader: Betty Lafave
This series begins April 27 and will continue to late September
This ride will be split into 2 groups, a fitness group and a social group. This will allow riders preparing for the Tour de l’Alberta 50 km distance to ride together. The fitness group may ride at a faster pace, take fewer breaks or ride further than the social group, as decided by the group leader. Both groups will meet for coffee and socialization at the designated spot. Riders may switch groups as long as they inform the group leaders in advance of the ride.
Regardless of which group riders choose, all riders will progress to a 50 km distance prior to Tour day on July 13. The ride will continue to progress to longer distances of up to 70 km in the summer. It is a no-drop ride. We will endeavour to have a sweep for each group, but if training riders are not able to keep up with the group, they will be asked to join the social group.
Enduro 160
Sundays (start times shift throughout season)
Ride Leader: group leaders shift each week.

The rides have various starting points in and around Edmonton. Bring your well-maintained road bike and cell phone for enjoyable tours on good roads with some rolling hills. Use Ride With GPS on your phone, or download the route on your GPS device.
Monday Recreational Rides
Mondays at 6:30 p.m. Start Location: Rundle Park
Ride Leader: Gaye Carter
This series begins April 28.
We will start the cycling season with 16-18km rides through the bike paths and streets of the neighbouring areas of the river valley. We will work our way up to 40km rides as we build those cycling legs. Pace will increase with distance and time. Along the way, we will stop for coffee and snacks. We will ride primarily on paved trails or roads with some off-pavement for short distances. Remember that we meet at the bottom of the river valley and must climb to the top for all rides.

Get to know some of our nice rural and urban roads all around Edmonton. This bi-weekly fast paced social ride series offers cyclists 40km to 70k ride progressions as our summer days get longer. These rides are designed for riders who can self navigate, RWGPS is required.
Rambling Routes
Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.
Ride Leaders: Sonja Taylor/Scott Keast. (Guest leaders also involved)
This series begins in early May and will continue into early summer
If you have just returned to cycling or are a new cyclist, this is the ride for you. This is a relaxed city route with shorter distances on mostly flat or gently rolling terrain. There are breaks for snacks and water. However, all cyclists must have a well-maintained bike and be prepared to enjoy the sights. There can be no e-bikes on this ride, so dust off your road or mountain bike, and come join a group of eager cyclists who want to have fun.

Ride Leader: Keith Bambridge
This ride springs onto the calendar at the end of July when the outdoor patios invite all cyclists. Book early as it is a club favourite. Explore the roads and paths in and around St Albert, ending with a treat at Italian Bakery’s Mercato.
Outbacks
Wednesdays at 7 p.m. Location: various
Ride Leader: Phil Davidson
This series begins May 21.
Where are you on the super-jock to just-off-the-couch continuum? Is this the fitness ride for you? YES, wherever you are on the continuum! We ride by time, not distance. You ride out as far as you get in the set time and then ride back to the start. This is a ride for anyone who wants to improve their fitness and pace. It’s about personal bests and each week, you will get better!
Ruck On!
Thursdays at 7 p.m. Location: various
Walk Leader: June MacGregor
The trekking begins May 15
Walking with extra weight can be great for cardio and leg strength and, unlike cycling, weight-bearing is great for your bones! We’ll put a little extra weight in a pack and look for some hills to climb. Then we’ll look for a place for a coffee and yak-fest.
 Friday Quiet Roads
Fridays at 10 a.m.
Ride Leader: June MacGregor
This series begins May 2 and runs until the end of August.
These will be more relaxed rides for veterans of road cycling and for cyclists with experience on urban bike paths who want to try rural routes. The distances will increase easy to intermediate as the summer progresses, so come out and get fit.
Target the Tour 100
Saturdays at 11, then 10, then 9:30 a.m.
Ride Leader: Phil Davidson
This series begins April 5 and will continue after the Tour
We will get ready for the 100 km Tour de l’Alberta, starting at a modest distance and pace, gradually increasing both as we prepare to enjoy a beautiful 100-km day in the Biosphere on July 13. The Tour is not a race and we will be preparing to ride it at a recreational pace, with regular breaks of 5 to 10 minutes to allow our bodies to recover without shutting down, followed by coffee and socializing.
Saturday Social Ride
Saturdays at 9 a.m. (Ride Leader: Michel Roloff)
This series begins May 31 and will skip some weeks
Time to blow off some steam from a long work week. The Saturday Social Ride will bring you together with friends for an adventure on two wheels. Hell, we may even throw in a coffee stop. Join me for a no-drop, social ride in or around Sherwood Park and Edmonton. Perfect for the first time cyclist and those rediscovering their love of cycling. Learn some tips and tricks while getting comfortable cycling alongside vehicles, other cyclists & pedestrians.
